CTI INTEGRATION

Unify OpenScape 4000 (Siemens HiPath 4000)

TRX call recorders support two types of integration with Unify OpenScape 4000 (former Siemens HiPath 4000)

The main goal of the CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) interface is to allow TRX recorders using the CSTA (Computer-Supported Telecommunications Applications) protocol to connect to the CTI CAP server over TCP/IP network environment.
The audio stream can be retrieved by means:

The CAP (Common Application Platform) server can translate and distribute call related messages from Unify OpenScape 4000 (Unify proprietary CTI protocol) to the call recorder. Thereby it is necessary to establish CTI communication between these devices.

The CAP server requires appropriate number of free CAP-A (CAP Advanced) licenses.

TDM ACTIVE RECORDING

The active CTI recording requires the OpenScpape 4000 to be equipped in additional PCM32 trunk boards (DIUN2/DIUT2) dedicated to transmit audio stream to call recorders.
The TRX call recorder, based on information about the call received from PBX via CSTA link, can cause that PBX fork the audio stream from recorded stations and trasmsmit it to the recorder via specific time slots of dedicated PCM32 trunk board.
Because of Unify proprietary solutions in PBX it is necessary to use two time slots per one call (one slot per call side).
With the active integration, the number of input channels in the recorder is determined solely by the maximum number of simultaneous calls that may take place in a telephone system.

For recording up to 30 conversations you need to equip:
Channels on the PCM32 board can be configured as:

The communication between the call recorder and CAP server (control link) is held via existing LAN / WAN infrastructure, while the communication with the PBX (voice link) requires direct connection of both systems via PCM32 interfaces (2Mbit/s trunks).

Active recording method allows you to record conversations from any analogue, digital, or IP stations. You do not need to directly connect to each subscriber line you are recording. If you need to change recording line to another, all you have to do is making changes in recorder configuration.

IP ACTIVE RECORDING

The main difference between IP active recording and TDM active recording is the way in which acoustic data is collected. In case of IP active solution no additional hardware (such DIUN2 / DIUT2 for OpenScape and PRI interface board for TRX recorder) is required. Instead of this TRX recorder registers the required number of SIP accounts in OpenScape 4000, and audio stream is transported via LAN/WAN network using UDP protocol (User Protocol Datagram).

Similarly to TDM solution audio streams for microphone and headphones are separated, therefore two dedicated SIP account are required to record both sides of the conversation.
Recording 30 simultaneous calls on OpenScape 4000 (HiPath 4000) requires 60 dedicated SIP accounts.

Our solution allows you to use both types of active recirding (TDM and IP) in one recorder. For example it is possible to increase configuration of your recorder with 30 TDM channels by adding 4 IP channels.

PASSIVE RECORDING

In the passive integration each line (analogue, system, ISDN BRA/PRA) is connected to the suitable interface in the recorder. From the recorded lines is taken only the audio signal, any call related information is obtained from OpenScape PBX via the CSTA protocol. The TRX software, based on both information received from CSTA and current configuration of the recorder determines if a particular call shall be recorded or not.
